970 Good For 1440p Vs 1080p > http://urlin.us/5p93t
bootcherMay 13, 2015, 8:37 PM If you want high fps at a loss of resolution the 1080p seems the logic choice. I think im picking mine up next week now. If he wants to go all-out now, the GTX 970's would be the way to go. my X2 R9 290's will actually last 2 yrs. Why would you buy anything with a TN panel? The color and viewing angles are absolutely atrocious.IPS >>>>>>>> gimmicky g-sync nonsense on a TNAlso, I would go for a 980 over SLI 970s. Even with the 3.5 gb cram they still are the best bang for your buck.If future proofing.is the way you want to go I'd just wait for.the 2015 series from amd and nadia launch sometime this spring. Screw 1440p. The only games that have stutter are the Ubisoft titles because of the game engine they use which has trouble streaming data.
But a few will give you some hiccups if you try it maxed out. You don't use SLI or Crossfire. You can run every game at ultra setting at 1440p. With my budget I can either get an Asus VG248QE monitor, g-sync kit, and sli 2 970's or get a 980. on par with calibrated IPS monitors, but you still have the poor viewing angles, and that's why I can't justify grabbing one. What do you think with owning a very similar PC, do you wish you would have done the same? KllownJul 7, 2015, 2:20 PM Very tidy looking system you've got though, kudos, can't wait to get mine! guanyu210379Jul 7, 2015, 2:53 PM If you are interested in Witcher 3 fps using GTX970:Witcher 3 1920x1200 with all ultra except GrassDensity and ShadowQuality and HairWorks turned off combined with mods like E3FX is running around 40-50 fps on my OCed GTX970.Witcher 3 1920x1200 with all ultra except GrassDensity and ShadowQuality and HairWorks turned off combined without mods like E3FX is running around 55-60 fps on my OCed GTX970, I capped the fps to 60.Witcher 3 1920x1200 with all ultra except GrassDensity and ShadowQuality and HairWorks turned on for everything (Hair only set to 2x AA) combined without mods like E3FX is running around 45-55 fps on my OCed GTX970.Witcher 3 1920x1200 with all ultra except GrassDensity and ShadowQuality and HairWorks turned on for everything (Hair only set to 2x AA) combined with mods like E3FX is running around 35-45 fps on my OCed GTX970.My rough estimation using my experience after migrated to XB270HU, if you are playing 1440p and using the same settings like above, you will get around 60% of those above fps.
But a GTX 970 is a bit overkill. Seeing as new gen of cards is still 4GB. I have my cards OC 1450Mhz in SLI. What does 1440p look like compared to 1080p? Is it just a little better or is the difference really obvious? Same with 4k vs 1440p? Big difference or just a little better? My sli 970's don't push new games even close to the 144hz cap, and they are much higher performing than a single 980.You'd best pony up for 3 980's. 6e8412f8ec
